The Office of Social Communication of the Federation of Asian Bishops’ Conferences announced that it will be holding its annual communication conference in November.
This year’s gathering, which will be held from November 18-19, aims to gather communication professionals, educators, clergy, religious, and lay people from across the region.
The conference will carry the theme “Communication and the Synodal Church” and will be conducted by the Veritas Asia Institute of Social Communication.
The FABC-OSC announcement said the meeting “will explore communication and its role in what Pope Francis calls a synodal or listening Church.”
It said that the FABC’s thrust of “A New Way of Being Church in Asia” will provide the backdrop for discussions.
“A New Way of Being Church” is the Asian Bishops call for local churches to be a “communion of communities, participatory, witnessing and dialoguing, as well as prophetic.”
The two-day gathering will be held online via Zoom from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.
