Very warm greetings to all Cardinals, Bishops, and religious leaders of the Catholic Church in Asian countries. I am more than grateful to stand here and welcome you all to Thailand. I am also happy to congratulate the Federation of Asian Bishops’ Conferences whose members gather here in Thailand for a general conference on its golden jubilee.
On behalf of the Thai government, I am honored and proud to have an opportunity to welcome you all Catholic religious leaders who have chosen Thailand for a general conference of the Federation of Asian Bishops’ Conferences to be held on October 12-30, 2022.
In Thailand, we have just crossed over the COVID-19 pandemic and started an atmosphere of happy welcoming visitors with safety.
In addition, Thailand has an environment of Thainess where its people live peacefully together with religious and cultural diversity. People of all religions live together and mutually help develop Thai society under His Majesty the King.
The Thai government is ready to promote all religions in Thai society as we realize that people need moral and ethical development. All religions play an essential role in developing human beings, as national development does not just have external or economic aspects, but it is more important to have spiritual, moral, and ethical development of the people.
Therefore, it is a very impressive opportunity that Asian Catholic leaders come for their general conference in Thailand with the goal of searching for a common direction in providing services to Asian nations, particularly in the moral and ethical development of the Thai people.
The Thai government is honored and happy to give its collaboration for the common benefit of all Asian nations.
May God’s grace be with you all religious leaders for the successful achievement of the planned objectives.
Message of H.E. Mr. Itthiphol Kunplome, Minister of Culture of Thailand, on the occasion of the FABC general conference on Oct. 12, 2022.
