Filipinos showed their love for the Blessed Virgin Mary during the Marian month of May despite the difficulties brought about by the coronavirus pandemic.
In the Diocese of Borongan in the central Philippines, the observance of the Marian month is also an opportunity to conduct catechism for children.
In their homes during the lockdown, children held catechism classes and listened to live catechism broadcasts on television, radio and social media under the supervision of parents.
The daily recitation of the rosary followed with prayers to honor the Blessed Mother ended with the offering of flowers.
On May 31, Bishop Crispin Varquez of Borongan led the faithful in a “Flores de Mayo” observance to mark the end of the Marian month.
