Photo gallery: Solemn observance of Good Friday in the Philippines

The traditional reenactment of the crucifixion of Jesus in the Philippines’ northern province of Pampanga was canceled.

Only a few flagellants were seen on the streets for fear of arrest due to quarantine measures imposed by authorities.

In most towns and cities across the country, Filipino Catholics stood by the roadside outside their homes, holding lighted candles, as priests holding a cross go around on pick-up trucks to mark the observance of Good Friday.
