The above video from Vatican News is a message from Pope Francis commending the one-year anniversary of the “Document on Human Fraternity for World Peace and Living Together”, and the presentation of the Human Fraternity Award.

One year ago, Pope Francis and the grand imam of Al-Azhar, Ahmad Al-Tayyeb, reached a “milestone” in Christian-Muslim relations by signing the document on human fraternity in Abu Dhabi, the United Arab Emirates.

The document is intended as a “blue-print,” showing the way towards a culture of inter-faith and inter-cultural dialogue.

Celebrating this “great humanitarian event,” the pope called for a future free from “hatred, rancor, extremism, and terrorism.

He further expressed his appreciation for being able to take part in the presentation of the Human Fraternity Award, which aims to encourage all all “virtuous” men and women who embody love through their actions and make sacrifices for the good other others, regardless of faith, race, or culture.
